The Federal National Council of the UAE approved the draft federal law on the federal budget and the budgets of independent federal bodies for the fiscal year 2026. The session, chaired by Council Speaker Saqr Ghobash, was held in Abu Dhabi. Minister of State for Financial Affairs Mohammed bin Hadi Al-Hussaini stated that the 2026 budget, amounting to 924 billion dirhams compared to 715 billion in 2025, represents a qualitative leap of 29%, reflecting the strength of the national economy. He emphasized that the budget reflects the state's belief in investing in people and innovation as the main driver of sustainable economic growth. Priority sectors include education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social development. As the council speaker noted, this budget, the largest in the country's history, confirms the path of growth and stability based on confidence in its own capabilities and future vision.
